Marine Spill Response Corporation is a 24-hour not-for-profit emergency response, U.S. Coast Guard Classified Oil Spill Removal Organization. MSRC was formed in 1990 to offer oil spill response services and mitigate damage to the environment. MSRC offers a full range of oil spill response capabilities intended to help meet the planning criteria of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 2+ years office or administrative support experience
  • Accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent organization skills and flexibility
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
  • Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem solving skills
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail

Primary Responsibilities

  • This position provides support to the Region Vice President, Accounting, Human Resources, Safety and other departments as necessary
  • Detailed review of all Accounting transactions
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and with accuracy
  • Drafting and finalizing correspondence and other clerical functions as needed
  • Coordinate meetings including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking meeting minutes
  • Greets regional visitors and interacts with public and private sector executives
  • Updates and maintains MSRC Customer Contacts database
  • Coordinates conference, travel and hotel arrangements
  • Prepares new hire files for Human Resources Department
  • Work effectively in team environment and provide support and assistance
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional

  • Position may require some travel to other sites and locations within MSRC.
  • Because of the emergency response nature of the business, a continuing condition of employment is that the applicant/candidate acknowledges and agrees to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and on occasion will require work during week-ends and holidays
  • Availability to report to the work site location within a 2 hour recall notice and work 14 days or more in the case of an oil spill or weather related activity
